The Reverend Glenn Rankin
Fr. Glenn Rankin comes to St. Paul’s Council Bluffs after a long and storied tenure of 41 years with St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Harlan, IA. Fr. Rankin graduated from Carroll University in Waukesha, WI, and went on to Dubuque Theological Seminary. He graduated from Nashotah House, an Episcopal Seminary located outside of Milwaukee. In addition to serving the congregation in Harlan, he served Trinity Church in Denison for nearly 40 years, and also Holy Trinity in Atlantic. During his career he has been active in multiple organizations and activities including music, Scouting, the Shelby County Ministerial Assn., bible studies and prayer groups. Fr. Rankin brings to St. Paul’s Council Bluffs a wealth of experience, knowledge and enthusiasm as we prayerfully journey together to discern God’s will.
Dr. James Johnson - Organist
St. Paul's was fortunate to have Dr. James Johnson join us in January 2012. Dr. Johnson has earned a distinguished international reputation through his recordings and performances. In 2001 he was named winner of the Excellence in Teaching award at the University of Nebraska at Omaha. From among the ranks of his piano and organ students have come well over one hundred fifty winners of area, state, and regional competitions. A native of South Carolina, Dr. Johnson earned his BM, MM and DMA degrees at the University of Arizona. Prior to his tenure at UNO, he was Professor of Music and Chairman of the Music Department at the University of Alaska Fairbanks. Also an organist and conductor, he earned a post-doctoral MM at Westminster Choir College, as a pupil of Joan Lippincott.
